Shop Policies & faq’s

**PLEASE READ BEFORE ORDERING**

For most orders I need at least TWO WEEKS notice to prepare, if I am not already booked (during Spring and Summer I book up at least 1-2 months out). I can sometimes accommodate orders given with in less than 2 weeks, however, so its best to always ask. It just depends on how many orders I already have and what’s going on at home.

***ALL SALES ARE FINAL***

shop policies

ALL orders require payment in full before you pick up your cookies.  I will confirm your order and give payment options a week before your event in case there are quantity adjustments.

  • After an order request form is submitted,  I will email you letting you know I received it within 24 hours. After that, you will be able to share inspiration photos, invitations, or any other inspiration you’d like me to see. You’ll find I’m very easy going and look forward to helping you design some amazing cookies.

  • Unfortunately, I cannot ship cookies.  All cookies must be picked up in New Lenox.  I can, however, deliver for a fee.

  • Custom cookie orders are a minimum order of 2 dozen.

  • I cannot offer discounts for higher quantities.  Custom decorated sugar cookies are handmade and take lots of planning and time.  More cookies always means more time.

  • I put great care into packaging each of your cookies carefully, therefore I cannot be held responsible for any damages, color bleeding due to humidity or climate changes, or lost items once your order leaves my hands. I am happy to share ways to store until your event or keep any extras poppin’ fresh, feel free to ask.

  • ALLERGY WARNING:

  • My cookies contain wheat, milk, and eggs.  Though my sugar cookies do not contain nuts, they are baked in a kitchen that is peanut and tree nut friendly.  Some of my ingredients are prepared and packaged near dishes or utensils that may come into contact with Wheat/Gluten, Eggs, Dairy or Dairy Products, Peanuts, Tree Nuts and Soy.

In keeping with the cottage laws of Illinois, all cookies will be labeled with allergens and contain a statement that they were made in a home kitchen that is not health department inspected.

    CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS:

  • All orders are final

  • No refunds are issued unless there is an emergency or I am unable to fulfill your order

  • If for some reason you need to cancel, please inform me no later than 1 week before you are scheduled to pick up your order- refunds will be issued on a case by case basis. Let me know as soon as you know if you need to cancel please.

  • My goal is 100% satisfaction. If you are unhappy with your order please reach out to me (email kate@greendoorbake.com) immediately to discuss the problem. Please give me an opportunity to fix it before you post anything negative on social media.

SHop FAq’s

I HAVE LEFTOVER COOKIES, CAN I FREEZE THEM?

  • YES!  Cookies freeze amazingly well!  Keep them in their resealable bags and put them in a container with an air tight lid.  I don't know how long you can keep them frozen but I would imagine a few weeks with no problem.  When you want to enjoy them again, take the container out of the freezer and DO NOT TAKE THE LID OFF UNTIL THEY ARE THAWED COMPLETELY.  Remove the lid and enjoy!!

DO MY COOKIES COME INDIVIDUALLY WRAPPED?

  • YES!  All pricing includes packaging as well.  That way there is no hidden fees and cookies stay poppin' fresh.

I JUST PICKED UP MY COOKIES...NOW WHAT?

  • Once cookies are in their little plastic homes they remain fresh for quite a few days.  If your event is a day or two away just leave them in a dry place out of direct sunlight.  DO NOT REFRIGERATE, they don't like that.
